Overview
Aris Global needed to modernise an outdated reporting and analytics web application for its life sciences clients. With limited frontend capacity, tight deadlines and a need for stronger delivery coordination across regions, they turned to emagine for a managed team that could move quickly and take ownership.
Working in close partnership with Aris Global’s product and engineering leaders, emagine helped deliver a fully rewritten application with expanded functionality, introduced more structured delivery practices, and supported knowledge transfer into the client team. The result was a modern self-service analytics solution delivered from scratch within the first year.
The Challenge
Aris Global, a leading life sciences software provider, needed to replace an outdated reporting and analytics web application with a more modern experience for its regulatory product line. The ambition was clear from the outset: build a self-service analytics solution that would allow clients to explore and visualise data in new ways. But the delivery context was complex.
The programme had to move fast. The business was working against a tight first-year timeline and needed to hit both MVP and market-ready milestones. At the same time, Aris Global had limited internal frontend capability and restricted management capacity, making it difficult to onboard quickly, scale delivery and maintain momentum without external support.
There was also a coordination challenge. Product managers and engineering leads were working across the US, Europe and India, while development depended on strong collaboration between frontend and backend teams. To succeed, the programme needed more than technical delivery. It needed structure, alignment and a shared way of working that could bring distributed teams together around the same priorities.
This is where the engagement became about more than filling a skills gap. Aris Global needed a partner that could get started quickly, integrate into an existing global setup, and take responsibility for making delivery more predictable. The challenge was to modernise a critical application from scratch while also improving the operating rhythm around it.
The work had to balance urgency with quality. Aris Global was not looking for a transactional resourcing model. It needed a team that could contribute hands-on expertise, strengthen delivery practices and leave behind stronger internal capability once the first phase of the engagement was complete. That required ownership, not just activity — a way of working that reflects emagine’s client-facing promise of flexibility without loss of quality, and outcomes with accountability.
The Solution
emagine supported Aris Global with a nearshore managed team of five specialists from Poland, covering JavaScript and BI capabilities, led by an experienced Service Delivery Manager. The model was designed to do more than accelerate execution. It created a delivery setup with clear ownership, practical structure and close collaboration across geographies.
This approach reflects how emagine works with clients more broadly: bringing together the right expertise for the challenge, staying close to execution, and combining flexibility with accountability. In this case, that meant building a modern analytics application while also helping Aris Global establish stronger, more consistent ways of working.
Phase 1: Rapid team mobilisation
The first priority was speed. Aris Global needed delivery momentum quickly, so emagine focused on fast onboarding and immediate integration into the programme. The managed team was assembled and onboarded within four weeks, creating a fast start without compromising quality.
Because the team came with relevant frontend and BI expertise, they could begin contributing early rather than spending months ramping up. This helped reduce pressure on Aris Global’s internal teams and created the capacity needed to move the rewrite forward against demanding timelines.
Phase 2: Creating a shared delivery rhythm
To support a distributed delivery environment, emagine’s Service Delivery Manager worked closely with Aris Global’s product managers and engineering leads across the US, Europe and India. The focus was on alignment: connecting goals to sprint planning, improving visibility and creating a more structured operating rhythm around the work.
This included establishing clearer practices such as roadmaps and retrospectives, helping teams work in a more joined-up way across functions and locations. These improvements mattered because the challenge was not only to deliver software, but to make delivery faster and more predictable over time.
Phase 3: Rebuilding the application
Working alongside Aris Global’s backend team in India, the emagine team rewrote the web application and extended its functionality. The goal was to create a modern self-service analytics solution that would give end clients a better way to explore and visualise data.
The rewrite was not treated as a cosmetic update. It was a full rebuild designed to replace an outdated experience with a more capable and modern product. By staying embedded in delivery and closely aligned with client stakeholders, the team was able to keep progress moving while maintaining focus on the product outcome.
Phase 4: Building continuity into the handover
A strong result is only valuable if it lasts.
As the engagement progressed, emagine upskilled five junior Aris Global developers and transitioned them into the product team. This ensured the client had the capability to continue developing and supporting the application after emagine exited at the end of the first year.
That knowledge transfer mattered as much as the initial delivery. It reduced dependency, protected continuity and helped Aris Global retain both product knowledge and improved ways of working internally.
