Overview
Qualcomm needed to strengthen collaboration and communication across its global teams. emagine delivered a tailored soft skills programme, equipping employees with practical tools to improve teamwork, leadership and stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced environment.
The Challenge
Qualcomm is a global technology company specialising in semiconductors and wireless telecommunications, with a strong focus on areas such as 5G, mobile computing and automotive innovation.
Operating in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment, the organisation relies on effective collaboration across global teams. Employees work across different regions, cultures and time zones, often within complex project structures that require strong alignment and communication.
In this context, technical expertise alone is not sufficient. The ability to communicate clearly, manage stakeholder relationships and collaborate effectively across teams is critical to delivering successful outcomes.
As the organisation continued to grow and innovate, the importance of these skills increased. Teams needed to navigate complex interactions, resolve conflicts and maintain alignment across distributed environments. Leaders were required to guide teams through change, influence decision-making and manage high-stakes negotiations.
At the same time, the organisation needed a structured approach to developing these capabilities. Soft skills training needed to be relevant, practical and aligned with Qualcomm’s specific organisational context. Generic training programmes would not provide the level of impact required.
In summary, Qualcomm required a tailored development programme capable of strengthening communication, collaboration and leadership capabilities across its global workforce, while supporting the demands of a fast-moving and innovation-driven environment.
The Solution
To support the client’s capability development goals, emagine designed and delivered a customised Soft Skills Training Programme tailored to the organisation’s specific needs.
Phase 1: Defining needs and outcomes
The programme began with close collaboration with key stakeholders to identify priority areas, organisational challenges and desired outcomes.
Design workshops ensured the training was aligned with the client’s environment and focused on real-world scenarios faced by employees.
Phase 2: Designing targeted learning experiences
Based on these insights, a tailored programme was developed focusing on three core areas: communication, collaboration and influence.
Content was structured to provide practical techniques that participants could apply directly in their roles, ensuring relevance and immediate value.
Phase 3: Delivering interactive, scalable training
The programme was delivered through 18 half-day sessions, reaching approximately 160 employees.
This format allowed participants to engage in manageable sessions while balancing day-to-day responsibilities.
Interactive exercises, scenario-based learning and real-life examples ensured that training remained engaging and grounded in practical application.
Phase 4: Embedding skills into daily work
A strong emphasis was placed on applying new skills in real work contexts.
Participants developed capabilities to communicate more effectively, collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders, while also strengthening leadership skills in managing complex interactions.
This ensured the programme delivered lasting behavioural change rather than one-off learning.
