The mission of the Cloud Data Security Architect is to provide comprehensive technical guidance and expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in Data & Digital Security. This role involves architecting secure, scalable, and resilient data architecture for both cloud and on-premise environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in information security and cloud technologies, particularly with Azure, along with excellent communication skills.
Main Responsibilities:
As a Cloud Data Security Architect, you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical guidance on architecture, design, and configuration to ensure secure data architecture.
- Performing security assessments of Azure data architectures and services.
- Contributing to best practices and governance for data security.
- Defining security pre-requisites for main cloud projects aligned with IT strategies.
- Reviewing Azure Cloud services and proposing security requirements related to the IS&T Security Framework.
- Participating in the definition and roll-out of security policies and guidelines.
- Managing cloud security projects, from requirement identification to implementation.
- Supporting business units in deploying security solutions tailored to business needs.
- Assisting in the migration and deployment of workloads in the cloud.
- Assessing security risks and establishing appropriate measures for main projects.
- Analyzing business and IT requests that impact security and suggesting mitigating measures.
Key Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or Information Security; MS preferred.
- 3 to 6+ years of experience in Information Security (consulting, audit, architecture).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Azure cloud.
- Knowledge of Azure Data services (Azure SQL, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, PowerBI, etc.).
- Experience with Azure AI platform (Azure OpenAI, Databricks, Azure ML, Cognitive Services, etc.).
- Strong technical background in network, system, database, and application security.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies (ISO27005, eBIOS, etc.).
- Cloud certifications/training (e.g., MS AZ-500, AZ-30x, SANS SEC545) preferred.
- Information Security Certification (ISO 27001, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging at all organizational levels.
- Fluency in English with excellent writing abilities.

- Experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks related to data security.
- Exposure to other cloud providers and their security architectures.
