Effective Steering Committees

The purpose of this e-book is to contribute to a better understanding of the importance of steering committees, their area of work, and which elements are important to them.

Our experience is that most people find this a difficult discipline to master, because the task differs in many ways from the usual management work that takes place in the line organization.

The work of the steering committee takes place in the project organization, which is a temporary organization where the managerial responsibility and role are different.

Therefore, we see great potential in focusing on steering committee work, and skill development in this area.

This may make the implementation of individual projects more successful, and ensure a better understanding and acceptance of the work that a steering committee must do, and of the steering committee’s actual responsibilities.
